It all happened so fast, too fast for us to react quickly enough. Dead...half of the student body is dead, and all because of him! The day was normal enough, the x-men had gone on a simple mission, nothing to big, just had to stop a rampaging group of homicidal humans burning up the city and blaming it all on mutants. Thinking back now I can’t believe how obvious their plan was. They caused a major riot down town, flaunting it in our face and goading us to come after them, and we fell for it, I fell for it. I assembled the team leaving only a handful of the teachers behind to watch over the kids, as the rest of us set off to take care of this little scandal. But …but how was I to know?
I should have known. I should have been prepared for this case scenario. Why wasn’t I prepared? So where was I, oh yes I took the x-men and we went to stop the fight, it took us quite some time to get everything under control, but we did. Triumphant we returned home, only to find parts of the courtyard either destroyed or drenched in blood, and one shinning figure standing among a pile of dead children.
NIMROD!
That name will forever be engraved in my mind, along with the image of his metallic armored body coated in the innocent blood of my students. Why wasn’t I prepared for this, why I didn’t see this coming? The first attack, the riot it was just a simple diversion, used to separate the x-men while they sent in their true warrior nimrod, a robot sentinel seemingly from the future, to kill the students. They came to destroy the future hope of the x-men and thus the world. Why didn’t I see this coming? I should have seen this coming, I should have prepared them better, or left security measures for a class omega threat like Nimrod, so then why didn’t I do it.
Still though not all is lost, there is some hope, some of the students roughly less than half of the original student body survived. We came just in time to at least do some good; we saved those students from death, but for how long I wonder? Nimrod and through extension all the purifiers know about the students in the mansion now. The purifiers have information on all of us now, and that makes them even more deadly than before. That’s why I’ve taken extreme measures.
I’ve forced Logan into a position of command over a team he doesn’t agree on. He doesn’t agree on what the team stands on, he also doesn’t like seeing some of the students who were once optimistic and full of hope to change so drastically to want to kill, but he won’t see them die. Logan leads this team that he has dubbed X-force. That was one of my steps. My second was to start training the newest generation of x-men. These students can’t be children anymore, they lost that luxury when they manifested their powers, and I was a fool to believe that I could shelter them from that life. The fact of the matter is I can’t, and so I won’t even bother to anymore. Emma’s chosen the newest team of x-men, and dubbed them The New X-men.
Still though I can’t help but feel the worse is yet to come, the purifiers although incredibly bad are not the worse of our enemies, and once our true enemies find out just how vulnerable we are right now, I wonder how long they will take in striking while the iron is hot. The purifiers began a war, a war which they couldn’t possibly have handled. And now through the aid of my x-men, the newest incarnation of new mutants, and Wolverine’s X-force we will not only end this damn god forsaken war, but we are going to avenge all of our fallen students and comrades. Every last soul those misbegotten maggots ever claimed, the only question is will you aid us? Or will you stand against us?
