Full Name: Remy LeBeau
Code Name: Gambit
Affiliation: Brotherhood
Age: 20
Place of Birth: New Orleans
Detailed Description of Mutation: Can change the potential energy in any inorganic object to kinetic energy. Once “charged”, when he throws the object it explodes upon contact with a target. He also has heightened speed, agility and dexterity.
Played by: Taylor Kisch
Personality (at least two good paragraphs): on the outside, Gambit is charming, witty, and carefree. He’s smooth, a ladies man, and always up for a good time. It takes a lot to get under his skin although he has an uncanny knack for getting under others’.
On the inside, there’s a completely different man. Although his egotistical facade is flawless, he actually holds a large amount of guilt and self loathing regarding his past. He doesn’t throw his trust or loyalty in with anyone very easily, and tends to just go with the flow, sticking with whatever cause will benefit him the most. He has learned that the only person he can depend on is himself and doesn’t let people close.
Overall History (at least two good paragraphs): Born with an obvious mutation, red on black eyes, Remy was dubbed Le Diable Blanc and abandoned at birth. Much of his young life was predestined although he was never aware of this fact. Growing up on the streets, it wasn’t until he tried to pick the pocket of one Jean-Luc LeBeau, leader of the New Orleans Thieves Guild that he truly learned the meaning of family.
Unfortunately he learned that even family cannot always be depended upon. The majority of Remy’s life is shrouded in mystery, and he prefers it remains that way.
Writing Sample (4 good paragraphs OF THE CHARACTER YOU ARE APPLYING FOR):
Even in the dark, deserted alley his steps were light, barely audible. In his line of business, moving silently was a must. Tonight, though it served another purpose as he could easily hear the much heavier steps approaching behind him.
Continuing to move along as if he hadn’t noticed, it wasn’t until the man spoke and pressed a gun to his back that Remy LeBeau stopped moving.
“Give me your wallet?” the crook said gruffly.
“I don’ t’ink y’ wanna do dis, homme,” the smoothly accented voice replied. With his back still to his potential mugger, the smirk on the Cajun’s face went unseen.
“Oh really? And why the hell not?” came the annoyed reply. The words had barely left the man’s lips and his ‘victim’ was already moving. Quicker than the eye could see, Remy reached behind him and grabbed the gun whilst spinning around to face his attacker at the same time. Bringing one leg up he kicked the man in the midsection, pulling the gun from his grasp and spinning it around in his hand. By the time the crook knew what hit him he was on the ground, the gun now pointed at his head.
“Guess,” the Cajun deadpanned, his eyes glowing red in the darkness. “Lucky fo’ you, I never been a fan o’ guns.”
Suddenly, his eyes weren’t the only things that were glowing as the gun in his hands began to take on a magenta hue. Once it was glowing bright enough to light up the terrified expression on the crook’s face, Remy tossed it into a nearby dumpster and started to walk away.
“Y’ might wanna duck,” were his last words as the dumpster exploded behind him sending garbage and bits of metal showering all over the stunned thug.
